WHAT IS A PROCESS, PLEASE?

Processes determine our everyday life . But what is a process anyway. Just ask your colleagues. In most cases you will not get an answer, but many and above all different ones.

“In a process you put something in at the front and something comes out at the back” or “A process is only a process if it can be automated”.

We are all shaped by our professional careers and our experiences. A common language is therefore not always given.

What starts with these simple definitions can, in depth, lead to real pitfalls. Imagine you are in a critical optimisation project, but the project members are talking about different things? This can decisively endanger the success of the project, especially in optimisation projects, if there is disagreement in the initial phase as to what process optimisation is all about.

In science, process management is a well-researched and practiced discipline, but in practice a recognised certification has been missing for years. By comparison, there are several certifications and degrees to choose from in the field of project management.

For several years now, the gfo (Gesellschaft für Organisation) has been offering a globally recognised certification in the field of process management, the CBPP – Certified Business Process Professionell, in Germany in cooperation with other international organisations.

The aim is to demonstrate knowledge and experience in process management, but more importantly, that a common language is spoken.

All consultants of L&B Solutions GmbH are now certified since this year. We speak the right language!
